  • Sharp Rise in Purchase Prices for Corn Deep-Processing Enterprises
  • Corn purchase prices for deep-processing enterprises have risen strongly this week, as limited grain supply from grassroots sources and restocking demand have led enterprises to raise prices frequently to boost arrivals. Corn prices have surged across both production and sales regions.
  • As of Thursday this week, the purchase price range for corn at deep-processing enterprises in Shandong Province was 2,360–2,430 yuan per tonne;
  • the price range for deep-processing enterprises in Northeast China was 2,190–2,290 yuan per tonne.
  • After the holiday, enterprises in Northeast China resumed work slightly later than those in North China. Starting from last weekend, deep-processing enterprises in Northeast China successively raised purchase prices. At present, remaining grain stocks at the grassroots level are less than 30%, resulting in limited effective market supply. Driven by restocking demand, enterprises have kept raising prices to attract deliveries. This week, traders’ quotations generally increased by 10–30 yuan per tonne.
  • Corn prices in North China have continued to climb. Rainy weather has constrained grain arrivals, and coupled with the sharp rise in prices in Northeast China and futures prices, the number of delivery trucks to deep-processing enterprises in Shandong dropped to around 30 on Wednesday, a historic low. Enterprises have raised prices to boost supply, with purchase prices steadily advancing toward the 2,400 yuan per tonne mark. Traders’ quotations in the region generally rose by 10–20 yuan per tonne.
